Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Saygin Saman ("PeekNote", "we", "us"). They cover this website, the PeekNote apps for Mac and iPad (the "App") and the optional PeekNote account and Sync service (the "Service"). By downloading or using any of them, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use PeekNote.

Who can use PeekNote

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use PeekNote. If you use PeekNote for an organization, you confirm that you're allowed to accept these Terms on its behalf.

Your license to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms. You may not:

copy, modify, sell or distribute the App, except as the law allows;
reverse engineer the App, except where the law permits it despite this restriction;
remove or change any proprietary notices; or
use the App or Service to break the law or anyone else's rights.

If you got the App from the Mac App Store, Apple's standard license terms also apply, and Apple has no support or warranty obligations for PeekNote.

Your content

Everything you create or capture with PeekNote (screenshots, annotations, Boards and notebooks) is yours. We claim no ownership of it.

If you turn on Sync, you give us permission to store, copy and transmit your synced content only as needed to run the Service for you, such as keeping it available on your devices and keeping earlier versions. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

You're responsible for what you capture and share. Only capture and send material you have the right to use, and use redaction before sharing anything sensitive.

Accounts

An account is optional. If you create one, keep your password secure and your information accurate. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@peeknote.xyz if you think someone else is using it.

Plans and Pro

PeekNote is free to use, with limits on the number of Boards and notebooks you can create on the Free plan. Anything you already have stays yours to open, edit, export, send and delete, even past those limits.

PeekNote Pro removes those limits. It's a subscription that costs USD 14.99 a month and renews automatically every month until you cancel. Tax is added at checkout where it applies.

Free trial. If you haven't subscribed to Pro before, you can start with a 7-day free trial (one per account). You add a payment method when the trial starts. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your first monthly payment is charged when it ends.

Where you pay. In the PeekNote app downloaded from this website, Stripe processes the payment as merchant of record, on its own checkout page. In the Mac App Store edition, you subscribe with your Apple Account and Apple processes the payment under its own terms.

Canceling. You can cancel at any time. In the app downloaded from this website, choose Manage Subscription in Settings › Account, which opens Stripe's billing page. In the Mac App Store edition, cancel in your Apple Account's subscription settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for (or the end of your trial), and then your account returns to the Free plan. Nothing you've created is deleted.

No refunds. Payments are non-refundable, including for partial months and unused time, except where the law requires otherwise. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled only by Apple, under Apple's policies.

Failed payments and price changes. If a renewal payment can't be collected after retries, Pro ends and your account returns to the Free plan. If we change the price of Pro, we'll tell you before the new price applies to your subscription, so you can cancel first.

Coding agents and other tools

PeekNote can hand screenshots and Boards to third-party tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. Those tools are provided by others under their own terms and privacy policies. We don't control them and aren't responsible for what they do with the content you send or the changes they make to your projects. Review an agent's work before you rely on it.

Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

store or share content that is unlawful, infringing or harmful;
try to access other people's accounts or data;
interfere with, overload or probe the Service's security; or
resell or provide the Service to others without our permission.

Previews and beta features

Some features, including the iPad app, may be offered as previews. They may change, have bugs or be withdrawn, and are provided without any commitment to keep them available.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Trademarks

PeekNote and the PeekNote logo are trademarks of Saygin Saman. Mac, macOS and iPad are trademarks of Apple Inc. Other names belong to their respective owners. These Terms don't grant you any right to use our trademarks.

Disclaimers

PeekNote is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that PeekNote will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that Sync will never lose data, so keep backups of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, PeekNote won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to PeekNote is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using PeekNote at any time and delete your account from the App's settings or by emailing hello@peeknote.xyz. We may suspend or end access to the Service if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, and we'll tell you when we reasonably can. The sections on your content, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law survive.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll update the effective date above and give account holders notice in the App or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use PeekNote after that means you accept the new Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be handled by the state and federal courts located in Florida, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere.
